File Conversion

File conversion is an operation that creates a file of some specific format from another file containing the same data but representing it in other format. For example, you may want to convert a movie file from MOV to AVI format, or save a DOCX Word file as a printable PDF file.

How File Conversion Works?

File conversion often does not (and must not!) change the information containing in a file. It only changes the representation of this information, i.e., rewrites it in another format. To make file conversion, you must have the two things: a source file and file conversion software.

The Procedure of File Conversion

For a user, it is often a trivial thing: just open a file converter, select a source file, an output format to save it, and start conversion. A program will do all other things!
